Energy efficiency

We can support you throughout the energy efficiency process, as well as for your equipment and utilities

Why and how can we optimise our energy consumption?

There are many benefits to be gained from measures to optimise energy consumption: lower bills and less exposure to volatile energy costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, greater comfort and increased asset value from better insulated buildings, better remote control of energy use (building management systems), better environmental ratings for products from more efficient plants, etc.

Public policies provide incentives (White certificates, public subsidies, etc.) or impose targets to reduce consumption by 10% within 2 years (F-Gas directive, mandatory energy audits, etc.), but it is above all a question of operational efficiency.

Any approach to energy transition must start with the basics: measuring, limiting and then reducing consumption, while maintaining quality of service or usage.

This starts with sobriety, i.e., looking at the needs that generate energy use by changing the way current equipment is used and adjusted: optimising temperature settings, presence detection for lighting, etc. Then, it involves efficiency, by renewing equipment or carrying out renovation work to consume less for iso functional needs and iso quality. Secondly, it involves efficiency, by renewing equipment or carrying out renovation work, to consume less for iso quality and functional needs.

Energy efficiency needs to be considered on several levels:

  • Uses: raise awareness among employees, occupants, and customers to influence their behaviour, get them involved and make them “positive players”.
  • Settings: optimise the operation of equipment and utilities according to the relevant parameters (opening hours, production volume, weather data, etc.) using both manual and automated control.
  • Equipment: size according to current and future use, invest in the most efficient equipment, manage the renewal of the stock
  • Buildings: optimise the sizing and type of equipment to better match the building’s uses and envelope
  • Organisation: structure a vision, a management system and overall management of all the above aspects
  • Territories: investigate the needs and resources around its site in order to produce from renewable energies, recover and recycle waste energy and supply local stakeholders via heat, steam or cooling networks.

How we can support you

With 220 energy engineers, GreenFlex supports its customers in all sectors of activity (tertiary, retail, industry and regional) throughout their energy efficiency process: building roadmaps, technical and design studies, assistance with project implementation and financing, and long-term management of energy performance.

Throughout your project, our technical teams will provide you with the benefit of their expertise in utilities (electricity, heat, cooling, steam, carbon, etc.) and equipment (lighting, HVAC, boilers, refrigeration units, electric vehicle charging stations, etc.).

Our expertise

  • Lighting: choosing, deploying and finance lighting systems that take into account luminosity, distribution and temperature to reduce bills and enhance the attractiveness and visual comfort of the site.
  • Commercial and industrial refrigeration: develop the fluids covered by the F-Gas directive to anticipate tax increases, regulating refrigeration set points, optimise production and recover the heat produced.
  • Heating – Ventilation – Air conditioning (HVAC): deploy building management systems to supervise installations and optimise operations
  • Energy efficiency in processes and buildings: optimise uses, settings, utilities and consumption equipment by analysing, monitoring, raising awareness and renovating
  • Production, recovery and use of waste heat: insulate production systems, install heat recovery systems and use the heat in other processes (heating buildings, domestic hot water, etc.).
  • Heating, steam and cooling networks: design, build and finance networks involving private and public stakeholders to improve attractiveness and integrate the circular economy at the heart of local areas
  • Energy and Environmental Management Systems: assistance with implementation, particularly in obtaining or maintaining ISO 50001 and 14001 certification.
